“Oh my God! Your skin looks incredible – what have you been using?” is a great way to be greeted by friends when you get to dinner. Perhaps I was just having a great day and everyone could tell or maybe it was my two new not-so-well-kept secrets – Susan Posnick and Bliss’ Ex’glow’sion.
I just purchased a series of vanity organizers from Ikea. The clear acrylic is great to keep your stuff organized and neat on your vanity. I like to keep my products out in the open that way they can never get too messy or out of hand. If you can see it is messy, so can everyone else. It is a great way to keep your life in check and organized.
Now onto the beauty – if you are into grapefruit and pure whipped moisture for your daily routine Ex’glow’sion is the way to go. It is a great way to wake up my face in the morning and get the base of moisture I need to create a perfect canvas. No more flaky skin or dryness – in winter or summer.
Now to morph my uneven, freckly skin into perfect porcelain. I use my handy-dandy Susan Posnick Color-Correct to get rid of my undereye circles (college classes are not kind to a girl’s undereyes). I blend onto my eyelids as well to make a nice primer for my shadow. Then I buff on Susan Posnick ColorFlo all over my face. For months I had stared at Meghan’s perfect skin not wanting to let go of my BB Cream. I finally gave in and I will never go back to any other powder for my day-to-day face. ColorFlo gives great coverage and a dewy glow but doesn’t clog your pores – even in a Charleston heat wave.
My Susan Posnick love doesn’t just stop with basic coverage. I am obsessed with the ColorMe blush in “Ginger”. This shade, I swear, looks good on everyone I try it on. Frame it on your cheeks with the brightening end of your Color-Correct stick for a basic everyday contour. Susan Posnick not only makes great makeup but great packaging. All of her products are great for a girl on the go. With the brushes and applicators built into the products there is no where you cant take them.
Now when I need to get my Kardashian Kontour on use a few other products. RMS makes a fabulous bronzer that I stipple on just under my cheekbones and blend to define my bone structure and get photo ready for any event I need to go to.
My other go-tos?
Lush’s Mint Julep Lip Scrub: Not only do you get a great buff on your lips to apply your lipstick perfectly but the minty taste also gives you a little bit of freshness after you lick the sugary goodness off your lips!
Urban Decay’s Naked Palette: This is a go-to for many a make up lover. My blue-green eyes love the rich brown tones in this palette. It is a great all-in-one, no fuss palette (though I can’t wait to get my hands on Naked Basics and see how the matte colors look).
Vanity Mark Powder Brow Filler: With a shade for every hair color (even my out of the bottle red) these brow fillers give me great definition. And as I always say – the brows can make or break the face.
Coola Tinted Sunscreen: My little sample bottle from Birchbox is perfect for make-up free beach days!
Lipsticks: MAC “Crosswires”, poppy coral color(discontinued) and “Rebel” a deep purple-y red on trend this year; Lipstick Queen “Stoked” a perfect orange with a hint of coral to brighten any look for summer; Too Faced La Crème in “Naughty Nude” for a barely there look or in “Juicy Melons” for an adorable pink-coral everyday lip.
L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara: Every once in a while I stray but I always come back to this mascara – lengthening and thickening creates my ideal lash in only a few swipes!
