Are you drinking enough water lately?
As we all know, water is truly the basis for life. As such, we need to drink more of it! The health benefits from enjoying nature’s finest nectar are so broad, from revitalizing your skin to helping you reduce snacking throughout the day, water is a must.
Have you ever thought about the actual vessel from which you drink? Americans alone consumed over 50 billion bottles of water just last year, all of which were plastic.
NOT SO FUN FACT:
Only 28% of those bottles were actually recycled! That’s 36 billion recyclable water bottles going straight to the landfill!
So are you aware of the many health and environmental issues related to plastic?
Unfortunately, the list is depressingly long, and includes problems like cancer, diabetes, heart problems, depression, weight gain, and hormone disruption to name a few.
Bishpenol A (BPA) and phthalates are plasticizers that leach into products packaged in plastic. Take a moment to think about how many different plastic things you interacted with today! Look around you now and count all the plastic items near you: it’s astounding!
Phthalates have been banned in the European Union as well as in 9 other countries. So why are they still in everything, and why does the FDA still consider phthalates to be “generally regarded as safe”?
Really? This is not okay. We need to make a change, not just for our own health, but for the health of our planet. Here’s how you can take part in the movement against plastic!
Introducing bkr Bottles!
Completely plastic-free, bkr Bottles are made from thick, durable soda-lime glass. Colorful silicone slips insulate and protect the glass bottles and better yet, every component of these bottles is dishwasher safe! bkr bottles are 100% recyclable, silicone slip included!
Some well-known BPA-free brands like Nalgene and Camelbak make their bottles with a “copolyester” plastic. BPA-free does not mean clean or healthy! In fact, many BPA-free products simply replace the BPA with structurally-similar components like Bisphenol S – a plasticizing agent with a nearly identical toxicity as BPA! (source)
It’s time to ditch the plastic and join the revolution for health and wellness in America. Enjoy the cute colors, cleanliness, and simplicity with bkr Bottles! Check out the long list of celebs who have made the switch to bkr!
